I had the opportunity to collaborate with Charleston City Paper on another edition of their annual Lit Issue. (See my previous Lit Issue contribution in the 2014 issue.) This new illustration accompanies a powerful poem written by Marjory Wentworth, South Carolina’s poet laureate. The poem is dedicated to artist Jonathan Green, whose Gullah-inspired paintings have always been an inspiration to me.
